I grew up on the East Coast, far from the mountains, in a suburb of New York City. Frequent family ski trips to Vermont quickly filled me with a lasting desire to live in the mountains. In 2001 I graduated from the University of New Hampshire to pursue a career as an outdoor educator and guide in the mountains, lakes, and coast of New England. I have guided rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, sailing, and sea kayaking for several organizations. In 2002 I became an instructor for Heather Paul’s Ultimate Groove women’s telemark camps, and remain a dedicated instructor. The allure of bigger mountains and better weather lured me to Crested Butte in 2006. I love living in a mountain town and being part of a community that is so focused on the outdoors. I have always enjoyed helping people create positive change in their lives, whether it be through physical challenge, personal empowerment, or simply assisting in the relaxation of tense muscles. Shortly after moving to town, I attended MountainHeart School of Massage and Bodywork. I was excited about all the positive changes and help that I received during the 850-hour program and was eager to share this with others. I currently own my own massage practice, but still remain active in the outdoor community by instructing for Ultimate Groove, and guiding and office managing for Crested Butte Mountain Guides. |
